So on the left sidebar in WP-admin I have menu item called "Dinner" and "Lunch". Now if post is created under "Dinner" then that post will have post type "dinner" and it will be shown under that section. But what if I want that post to appear under "dinner" and "lunch". Then Ill have to assign two post types, "dinner" and "lunch"
Yes, you would need to check both dinner + lunch in order for it to populate in both sections. Does the template allow you to create menu's from the post categories?
Yes I can create "food" inside those sections "Dinner" and "Lunch" Btw I found a plugin that allows me to change post type, but it can add more post types.
Hmm. sorry. That is typically not the case. If you have skype I can take a look real fast. That doesn't strike me as real intuitive if it only has lunch and dinner built in there. They should simply be posts but happy to take a look real fast. Drop me a PM if you need a quick hand. I need to grab some coffee but I will be working all day. Its morning here. N.
I use that theme on one of my websites....are you looking to make a post or an actual menu? Hopefully Nigel was able to help you, but if not let me know.
Neither. Well if you are using it then you will understand this. I want an item to be visible under Menu-Wine and Menu-Drinks, but with same url. I mean its not something I needed done, but I thought if there is that kind of plugin maybe I could use it. Btw, maybe u dont understand because you are using v2.0.3 Im using 1.7.6
I actually used an external plugin for the menu so I am not too familiar with the built in theme menu. It looks like drink and food categories are separate. I would just make the same item in both, even if the URL is different, as long as the pages are the same it should be fine. Is there a particular reason you want them to be the same URL?
Hey may just need that plugin you speak of. I only spoke with him briefly but when I looked it, it had some really odd taxonomy built in so you can't stick a menu item in lunch and dinner for instance. I suspect his logic is a bit flawed about the urls. N.
N - thanks for the input. I actually purchased a plugin, but here is the free less extensive version - http://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-restaurant-menu-manager/. The extended one is nice and very easy to use. I hope this works!
Cool nice find. I can't believe I have never seen that. Can you drop a link to the commercial one please? thanks, Nigel
Sure thing Nigel - http://labs.saidigital.co/products/easy-restaurant-menu-manager-wordpress/. Very good plugin, and SAI has good support as well.
