Wordpress Plugin Alternative for Alinks?

Hello,
With the arrival of the new version of Wordpress, my Alinks plugin has ceased to function. Is there an alternative which will replace text with links?

 

Alinks has always given a lot of problems and this is the very reason it has got very less number of users. I dont think there is any other replacement for this plugin atm.

 

the only other one I know of is link-a-dink

Just gave a try with this link-a-drink and it almost killed the wp database, may be a better plugin should be available,

Does anyone know a plugin like alinks that scales to a high-traffic site? Alinks is amazing, I love it and have used it for years, but the new version kills my heavy-traffic site.
