hmmm have you checked the the rpc's are not repinging each other. if they have the same sites listed in their ping list then you will get blocked by the blog search engines
here is what I use, but I'm not sure how valuable pinging is when I'm using google sitemap generator and webmaster tools. That combo gets me indexed just fine.

You should also check if these ping sites are functional since they might slow down you blog specially when you are posting something. It does not affect your end users experience though.
