Hi! Since around mid Jan,I've been teaching myself through various online tutorials how to code WP themes (so i can make money). Is this a good way to start learning php? Eventually i want to learn to code my own app,and I can now kinda see how php works in with xhtml and css. Have i learnt this backwards? Do i need to start at w3schools and learn it from scratch or what? What are my options in moving forward with my learning ? thanks, arcanus
thanks. LOL So i'm on the right track? What ,do normal people learn php before embarking on learning wp themes? rofl! thats so typical of me,What others find hard usually comes easy, while simple stuff can be hard for me? whacko isnt it. i just posted in review section,my first wp theme under development.. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1237627 It's changed a bit over the weeks, but to get to that point its take 4 weeks of 12hr days 7 days a week, scrapping once or twice.
i think creating wp themes is a very good way to learn php,if you are more into the designing stuff. If you want to do web programming however, you will have to delve into other stuff.Learn php/cURL and some regex,it will come in very handy.
yikes. cURLand regex sound scary-rofl! I'll have to look into it. I seem to be picking this up pretty easily. glad to get the feedback i'm on the right track
