I would say it is (d) in terms of SEO.

I have seen many popular blogs use (c) and I like it; helps me to easily recognize when the article was written.

Option (d) makes the URL pretty and shorter, good when I try to recommend to friends :)

I am still learning SEO but for some reasons, I think search engines treat all the same.

shorter the URL is, more importance the keyword gets in the URL. i myself prefer just using custom permalink structure with %postname% so the answer would be D

I currently use (b( on my wordpress site /%category%/%postname%/ with my content it just works best for me. both (b) and (d) are fine imo. My site ranks just fine. I would not consider myself an SEO guru so it is possible (d) might be better.
