What is the best permalink that most search engines like? Is it: a) http://www.sugod.com/year/month/post-name b) http://www.sugod.com/category/post-name c) http://www.sugod.com/year/month/day/post-name d) http://www.sugod.com/post-name Which of these permalink structures do you recommend? And why? If not, what other permalink structure do you recommend on using?
I have seen many popular blogs use (c) and I like it; helps me to easily recognize when the article was written. Option (d) makes the URL pretty and shorter, good when I try to recommend to friends I am still learning SEO but for some reasons, I think search engines treat all the same.
shorter the URL is, more importance the keyword gets in the URL. i myself prefer just using custom permalink structure with %postname% so the answer would be D
I currently use (b( on my wordpress site /%category%/%postname%/ with my content it just works best for me. both (b) and (d) are fine imo. My site ranks just fine. I would not consider myself an SEO guru so it is possible (d) might be better.
