Wordpress permalink problems

    I installed wp inside a folder domain.com /wordpress/ when i update the permalink to searchengine friendly i get a generated .htaccess from wordpress but when i upload it inside /wordpress. i get Internal Server error. what should i do. .htaccess is like this

    chmod 755 .htaccess

    and check yours apache or ask the webhosting provider that your webspace account may use the module mod_rewrite.

    i have mod_rewrite enabled.
