Sorry if this is a oft-repeated question, but I can't find a simple, clear explanation anywhere! Simple question, go to http://www.itsgottabered.com/MTB-Serbia/ and see if you can explain to me in duuuuhhh language why when you click on the page The Bike! you don't get the content I entered under Write Page (where does that content appear anyway, I thought it was for some kind of static page header, but I can't see it anywhere!), but rather than getting that, you just get exactly the same as on the Home page. This is a default installation of Wordpress, the only thing I have done is add the sem-static-front plugin, but this did not change this behaviour, it was doing that before. Purlease, someone just explain Pages one more time in dummy language for me - how you control the content that appears on them! thanks, markowe P.S. It's weird though, when I do a post, in the preview window it sort of DOES show the site properly. Could this be a permalink issue? P.P.S. I have been using computers for 25 years - why can I not set up something as simple as Wordpress?! Is WP just TOO n00b for me?!
OK, hold your horses on this one. I think the problem is that I am trying to something which is not envisaged by the default installation of WordPress - a more CMS kind of system, It's just a blog thing by default, I guess, not a CMS... Still, any help with this appreciated.
OK, thanks to the flood of help, I think I've got it If anyone else is having problems with Page and Category links in Wordpress seemingly not doing anything it is likely to be a .htaccess/permalinks issue. Haven't solved it yet, but Wordpress simply isn't writing to the .htaccess file. I can edit it manually, but I am a bit unsure of the syntax, and anyway, I'd prefer to let Wordpress do the work! Anyone care to suggest what the .htaccess codes would be to successfully redirect the standard "Date and Name based" option - should be almost the same for all setups, except for the RewriteBase?
