Hi, I'm a little confused about Worpress Pages vs. Posts. If you had a regular website, your home page might link to your 5 main subject areas and then you would list and link pages under each of those categories : for example - weight loss programs - atkins diet, LA weight loss program and so on. In WP, you can write a post and on the right side, you can tick the category that you want it posted in, and then the post posts also in date order on your home page. Then you can create "Pages" - I guess static pages like About, Contact, and so on. You can have subpages to those pages created also - so why would you need the Categories if you can do this ? So, is it best to write a post, even as a 750 word article or whatever and have it auto post on your main page and to a category selected, or is there any other better method of doing this ? Opinions are appreciated. Thank you very much.
If you want to have a blog, and write regular articles, I would suggest going for posts. If you want to have a static site with 5 sections, e.g. "Home, Services, About, Contact, Products...etc" then, just create pages.
I completely agree with kgrad here. If you plan on using wordpress as a regular site and not so much as a blog, I wrote an article that you might find useful. www.pqdb.com/blog-34/ It's about using wordpress as a CMS but I think it applies to what you are planning on doing as well. Eric
Hi bro , I think this might help you , http://www.lockergnome.com/diy/how-to-use-wordpress-as-a-cms/ and you can use Static frontpage wordpress plugin
why not make a page with your content then make a blog post announcing the article and linking to it.
