Please HELP! I know that the solution is probably simple, but I can't find it anywhere. How do I change my wordpress page title. (Not the blog title) My blog is www.comparisonelectronics.com. On the home page, it says "Welcome to my blog". How can i change that?
That looks like it's a feature built into the template... check the main index file of your template for this: <h2 class="pagetitle"> Welcome To My Blog</h2> Code (markup): If you can find that, just change it to what you like and it should do the trick. EDIT: Sorry, I know that's wrong, just realised what I have typed lol... Ignore that advice >,<
Thanks for trying. I did go to the template files before posting here but couldn't find "Welcome to my blog". I am sure that the solution is simple, which is why i am more annoyed because i can't find it.
Yes I did. I went through the entire list of php files. When i look at the source code through IE, it shows as an H2 tag, but i don't know where to go to find this tag and change/delete it.
If you go to the general properties section in your control panel you will see the title of your blog as well as the description. You can make your changes there
Hello, Ganpat. Any text that appears on a page of your blog may come from the *.php files ('templates' in the terminology of Wordpress), or from the mySQL database. Using the original template, any text in the database can be modified through an option in the control panel. However, if your blog is very customized, that is, very different from the original template, this may not be so. You may have to look into the database, i.e., make an SQL query. I think it would be better to ask the author of the template you are using. Good luck.
Open Your Wordpress Editor. Appearance >> Theme Editor. Edit index.php file. Search and replace Welcome To My Blog with your text.
Look this index.php <?php get_header(); ?> <?php get_sidebar(); ?> <div id="content-index"> <h2 class="pagetitle"> Welcome To My Blog</h2> <?php if (have_posts()) : ?> <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?> Code (markup):
