use them both!! Setup your main site in Joomla! and start working on the content, create good quality content. In a sub directory, or a subdomain, install WordPress and start blogging, using the keywords you also use for your website. WordPress with its create SEF functions and categories will bring you traffic, this traffic reflects to your main domain. And with the content on your main website, you work to keep your visitors captured and make them come back.
Just +1 for wordpress, its best for dynamic content, but for few pages site u can use joomla, the both are good...
Wordpress...i would suggest wordpress because of same reasons as people expalined above and because its structure is very much search engine friendly. Google index wordpress based websites quickly and they rank high faster.
It depends on what you want to do. WP is easier and for simpler sites where as you can do a lot more with Joomla.
Wordpress is best and easily customizable CMS and there are also so many plugin available in wordpress. Every one can mange Wordpress easily.
I found myself taking longer to build a website with Joomla than doing it with the WordPress platform. And it's not about being experienced or not as I used to work with Mambo and then switch to Joomla from its day one in September 2005. It's just that you have to spend more time in the admin panel disabling stuff and configuring different areas of the layout. You won't see too many of the built-in features such as the PDF/Print/Email buttons on professional Joomla powered websites, will you? So I'd rather prefer taking 5 minutes to install a default WordPress site, and then decide what plugins to use for the extra required functionality rather than spend the same 5 minutes installing the Joomla platform, and another 30 minutes disabling what's not needed. The fact that Joomla weights 2 times more than WordPress should not be ignored either.
