Wordpress is more SEO friendly, and it's very easy to configure and manage as well.

Joomla’s strenght is in complexity. Deep level navigation, sections in sections, categories etc… It has fixed pages and posts, posts Great for community sites, you can create a regular site

WordPress is simple, you can see it as a blog or as a regular website. It has fixed pages, posts and categories.
Through the use of plugins you can extend its functionality and let it grow as big and complicated as you want.

    WordPress Wins finally !

Agree with all of the above. I want to like Joomla, but I've had nothing but problems with it. Too complicated.

You really have to think about what you actually NEED. Wordpress does so many things well.

I love wordpress because google loves it.

You don't have to be a tech geek or something to use wordpress....all you need to do is spend some time playing around with that and you'll find how easy it is to work with wordpress.

Even if you find any problem with wordpress you can find the answer easily, since many people use wordpress.

WordPress is great because it is easy to use.
I would suggest you use Joomla if you want your website to look more professional.

    Wordpress
It's a well optimized one with SEO, and also an easy to use. Their plugin system is too much useful to create a successful web site.

For blogging platform, I would recommend wordpress, for a medium level CMS platform we can go with Joomla.

Joomla will not allow you to apply a post to multiple categories and Joomla Commenting is weak. Joomla is an amazingly powerful CMS that offers some great data organization tools that are missing in Wordpress.

I use both. But for blogging I'd stick with Wordpress.

If you need blogging only, WordPress wins hands down.
Joomla's beauty is the 4300+ of extensions that offer many more functions than WordPress' selection of these.
On the other hand WordPress has lots of free themes and free plugins. Joomla's are more sophisticated but costly.
