So most of you know I use Joomla almost exclusively. Well a friend convinced me to try Wordpress. I like it somewhat. I think Joomla's admin is better organized. anyway I have a couple of quick questions to get me started. 1) When I create a category it makes those nice WP links. I look at other blogs and they are listed as tags. Is this a plugin or do they simply change the title category to tag? 2) Is there a plugin that will list my categories differently than links on the side....sort of like what you might see here.. http://www.shareyourexpertise.com/article-index/ 3) What is the Multi user WP needed when you can set up original wordpress to allow other bloggers?
First of all, I totally think you should switch to wordpress, much cleaner 1) They're using UTW or "Ultimate Tag Warrior," it's a must have plugin which is supposedly becoming a standard addition in the next version of WP. 2) directory style? Not that I know of, however that doesn't necessarily mean that it doesnt exist. It seems like every day I learn about a new plugin for WP. There are just that many. 3) not sure about this, never had to do such a thing
You can list your categories any way you want by editing the template- just use the wp_list_categories function
what makes WP tags so special....my drupal site's tags are never picked up...my blog i hardly write on gets picked up all the time
Tags are essentially internal links.. Ive had some success with these.. Wordpress MU is for "blog hosting" from one domain.. So if you had say a school , each pupil could register their own blog , i suppose like myspace etc.. Its totally separate code from WP ...
i dont have the tag plugin on my WP insall yet my categories get referenced as tags on technorati yet none of my drupal "tags" ever get referenced does anyone know if there is a user profile plug in for WP?
