I can't seem to have numbered lists in wordpress, if i start a number list and then explain the 1st point and enter another numbered bullet, it starts from the beginning again, how do i get it to work?

i know it can be done, because i have seen it on plenty of wordpress blogs.

    any help would be appreciated?

Did you do it through Visual (WYSIWYG) editor?

You don't need to click the numbered list option for each line, just hit enter and it will go to the next number automatically.

yeah i use the wysiwyg editor.

like i said, after a numbered point i have a description below it to explain the numbered point, so each time i'd have to click the numbered list option.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Maybe theres a problem with your Browser. Try posting from any other browser or it still doesn't work use a offline Blogging software like Windows Live Writer. It will surely work

To format description, you can use right, left or center alignment. Then you don't have to click numbered list again & again.

..or make your list first, and then put the descriptions in for each after you have the entire list numbered.

i tried that, it keeps getting renumbered that way.

    care to explain further?

i highly doubt its a firefox issue, i'll give it a try in chrome too though.

for now, i'm going to have to use bullet points for a top 10 list! and that doesn't go at all.

So just make the list manually. How hard is it to type a number before the description ?
I know how you feel when something appears not to be working correctly, but this is not a case where automation will save you much time.

good point! however it is a hassle, i'd love to fix it, trying to increase productivity as much as i can and having to manually enter it doesn't help.

after you typed the each description, select it, & then use alignment boxes from the post option bar. thats way you can format your description as you like in center, left or right of the post body. you don't hav to click numbered list again. so it won't start from 1 again.
