I've just installed a wordpress blog (the new one) and downloaded the thesis theme and when i go to click on the theme it doesn't respond / change to the new theme, and its doing this for all the themes installed such as the classic theme

    anyone had this problem?

is there a way of manually changing it by editing files?

When you click the theme, it should show a preview of the theme itself. In the upper right hand corner of the preview box is it not asking to activate it there? If not do you have a screenshot you can show of what the preview box looks like?

Trying to find some causes for this to happen and not seeing anything...
Just to clarify its Wordpress 2.7.1?

Do you have any plugins installed? It's a fresh install so I would assume not but any plugins that aren't compatible with 2.7.1 could be breaking WP. If any are installed try disabling or updating if any are available?

Do you have any plugins or changes to your administration section that you installed? I see AJAX based interfaces were causing problems for a few.

Those are the only 2 things I've been able to find. Hope that helps, if not let me know about the version just to be sure maybe that can help me dig something up for you.

delete the theme folder from your host..
uplload it again in binary mode and make sure all the files (images and php files) goes under your skin file directly..
eg : themsis/here should be your files..
and try again from your wp-admin..if it doesn't load then there is a problem in your theme files..
