wordpress noob using hostgator

I have used the hostgator service , and installed wordpress on an add on domain.

I can acess the wp-admin and log in however on going to view after publish,
i reach the index page where the index files are shown.

Have tried installing the word press admin files to the domain root directory ,however no success.

Is there any simple solution as i figure there is , since i am a noob to WP

Haven't you installed Wordpress into a directory on your domain e.g. yourdomain.com/blog?

 

did installation through fantastico, but still reach the index page, able to go to wp-admin and log on to wordpress, however not able to view the pages,

i again reach the index page!
do i need to do anything, permission or change index.php root?

 

Try deleting all the files and installing again, following the directions on wordpress.org carefully. If you still run into the problem contact your host and make sure it isn't a server-side problem.

 

Well, you don't need to change nay permissions !
Simply delete each and every file and then install it from the beginning !
Then only it will work smoothly.
