Hi, i want to learn the skills of wordpress to earn some money online, but i really don't know where to start from. What is the best start for a newbie to wordpress and what skills are needed to for successfully delivering wordpress projects and especially how and where to bid for a starter. What should i start from, developing wordpress themes or plugins? If somebody can help me out and share some good tutorials for this i will be really grateful.
Great to hear you're interested in wordpress!! I have been a wordpress convert for almost a year now after struggling to enjoy other cms's..I almost exclusively design in wordpress now... If you have strong php knowledge then developing plugins and themes can earn money. Or you could go out and try to get clients to design full websites for. I find the best way to learn wordpress is to download a free theme and have a go at customizing it. If you already know php, html and css it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. First of all you should have XHTML(HTML and CSS) and PHP skills, for developing nice themes and plugins
If you don't have skills, let me know. I can install wordpress for you. After that you may see tutorials to make a new post/page.
Installing wordpress would not be hard. But since you are newbie, you would encounter some or less problem at each stage. I don't think you need to learn php or so. I have ZERO Php knowledge (Although I learn it some edits and all that still) but still I do lot of installation. You just do what it says, and you would be fine.
