Wordpress Mailing List?

Is it possible to freely create a mailing list through wordpress? I'm trying to find an add-on or such to do that but I don't see anything good.

 

You could use FeedBurner's Email Subscription for that.

Also, there are number of email list services that provide basic packages for free (up to x amount of addresses). MailChimp has a free service for a few hundred or so.

Either one will get you going until you build it up large enough to warrant something paying for.

 

Thanks for pointing out feedburner. I just made an account to test it out, working on trying to figure out how to make an email subscription out of it.

Is FeedBurner really made by Google? It looks like so cracked out and ungooglelike.

 

Google acquired FeedBurner a couple of years ago. Just like Google acquired Blogger a couple of years before that.

It sync WP users, creates and sends campaigns and it even has a subscription form widget to put on your site. But you will need an external Email marketing System (E-goi)

yeah even i was looking for a plugin to collect mailing lists - i use mailchimp which is pretty decent, not sure why its not as famous as it provides everything for free per month.

 

I use mailchimp and have done for a while - can recommend it.

 

There is also the plugin called Post Notify – WordPress Email Notifications Premium Plugin.
