wordpress linkbait

I've heard from numerous sources that comments on a lot of blogs are not counted for link strength.

I'm curious does anyone know if this pertains to wordpress blogs? Some of the wordpress blogs ask for your name, email and URL, and when you post you'll notice that your name becomes anchor text for the URL you submitted. Seems like a great way to link bait. Will this help my site's SERPs, or is this a waste of time?

it's waste of time because wordpress is using nofollow on their comment links. because of this , search engines will ignore your comment link
