    Hi guys,

Im just curious, what are the advantages of having a wordpress landing page over a normal one? The only advantage I can think of is, is that its easier to add more pages with wordpress, thereby avoiding a google slap. Plus google has always favoured "blogs" more.. better quality score??

    Thanks

Wordpress is much easier to edit, and generally google seems to like wordpress pages :)

If you are not willing to edit the page too often, just do it with static HTML. Using whole WP installation for just one landing page is wasting server resources, imo

If you already have a WP blog then your single page WP landing page is going to have a bunch of navigation and other links that you don't want on a landing page.

I have a WP blog and had someone design and HTML template that looked like my blog, but didn't have any of the nav or anything so that I could fill the matching sidebar etc. with the right content for the landing page.

I guess its easier to grow it out later on if you are committed to that one site, however if you are a serial squeeze pager, on limited resources, i would go the HTML Way since its quicker to setup, edit, and loads faster for the visitor...

The only html I know is how to make a hyperlink. I'm good with Wordpress, so for me it's much quicker and easier to use a WP static page. I use a premium theme that has the option of choosing a sales page template so it doesn't have any of the navigation bars or sidebars in it.

I also favor wordpress because it is easier to edit. I usually take out all the extra content (categories, blogroll, etc) and just have the main body about the product I am selling.

Wordpress is handy using as a publishing system and is a lot easier to setup than a content management system. Like the replies say, really depends on how often you change the content.

Wordpress is easier to use plus you get tons of plugins that you can use to enhance your SEO efforts... with HTML you may have to do all manually
