Now I don't believe that keywords in the URL helps much, if any at all in SEO but I'd like to hear what you think. Is it better to change the permalink in Wordpress to include the post name? Or will it be just as good with the post ID? Examples: test.com/bobs-themepark-rollercoaster/ or test.com/12/ Thanks
I'm trying out an experiment on my site. I haven't gotten any results yet, but it probably would work out better to have the post title in the URL. And maybe people would be more likely to click on something that had more bold words in the search results!
My blogs traffic went high when i changed the permalink to include post name(Date n Name based). Plus, there is an option to include custom prefix in permalinks which if done with good keyword, can fetch u good results. Try this, u won't lose anything for sure
I put the keywords (actually a keyword phrase) before the article title in the page title but only the title in the URL. With WordPress I always do a custom post slug to add a little variation. I think Michael Gray (Gray Wolf) did some studies that showed this is the most effective SEO. Richard
From what I'm finding, and what I felt all along, keywords in URLs are not important. The main reasoning is that they can b easily spammed. After all, it's about content right??
