Why is it that when someone mentions my wp site and gives me a link to the site in their actual post, I get that as an incoming link but when I comment on the blog it doesn't detect the link? Shouldn't the Google Blog search (which WP uses) see both links as incoming links from that specific blog? Surely this would therefore mean that Google can see the difference between the blog comment links and post body links and therefore weigh the comments links a lot less even if they are do follow.
Blog comments are No Follow. Those Links arent no follow, they are do follow and yepp thats correct.... Google is the man!
A mention in an actual post sends a trackback to the place or post mentioned- Comments don't do that- which is why if you get mentioned in an actual post you would see an incoming link in your admin panel but you won't see it if you make a comment on someone's site that doesn't mean however that you don't get the benefit of comments
Hmm, that's interesting. So if you search for link:<URL> on the blog search you only see the links from other blogs? And even so the ones that have you mentioned in the post?
