Wordpress: How to prevent search spiders from reading specific text?

I want to encourage people to link back to my site(s) by asking them to do so on their own sites and blogs.

I want to add a bit of text at the top of the site's home page asking them to do so. I would rather not have the spiders grab this so what doIdo to prevent themfrom reading this message?

Is there a plugin that does this instead?

 

Image is best as Kerosene, but you can use Javascript also.

 

Just make it an image. Simple!
