    Hey guyz ,
i have a blog ( fan site ) on bollywood actress Rani mukherjee .
Wordpress is the CMS i use .

I have put two plugins , namely google's sitemap generator and crawlpage generator for pressing those two pages .

My problem is , though my site gets indexed at google , only the blog home page namely , www.rani-mukharji.com/wordpress gets indexed for keywords while the individual pages dont get indexed at all .

But , through the homepage i am able to get traffic . but the post excerpt at google would be little better if it indexes my individual pages .

how can i make this happen ????

    you can also

    1) build link for inner page
    2) use the related post plugin
    3) link to other page in the same blog

only submitting site map doesn't get your page index. Also, getting index doesn't mean traffic, you need to get rank for keyword that people search for

How long have you been keeping track of this? It does take time for the Googlebot to crawl your entire site, even if you've submitted your sitemap to them.

This is a great tool -- google sitemaps really helped my site - my new entries are indexed very quickly and it helps since my site is dependent on fast turnaround of hot stories

increasing back links is one point i am working on .
so propably, that will speak .

but is there anyway , i can get each post of mine indexed ???

i know , google had crawled and is giving me links and traffic . but the excerpts are taking the text from the wordpress mainpage rather than the post page .

so how can i get the link , to point to the individual post page ???

weird, my posts are all indexed by Google, probably link buildings will help, submit some article to article directories pointing to your post might help too.

Yes, promoting the subpages should help. Create Facebook pages as well and place the lonks to every subpage.

I think you just need to be patient, while submitting sitemaps to Google Webmaster helps, it foes take time for Google to actually index the pages, especially if the blog is relatively new

I think some people here are confusing RANKINGS with INDEXING. They are two different things.

Its easy to get your pages indexed by google.

    1. install the XML Sitemap plugin on your WP site (within wordpress admin just type it into the plugin search and then click install)
    2. go to Google webmasters tools and add a new site and verify it
    3. once verified, just add the url to the site map

You will see your pages indexed within 24 hours.

The XML Sitemap plugin will do many things but most importantly will refresh your sitemap when you edit or add posts and will even ping google so google knows that your site map is changed.

Heres is a TIP: to know if your pages are being indexed in Google after you have posted them, just go to Google Alerts and create an "as it happens" alert for site:yourdomain.com.

Then every time a new page is added to the google index, you will be sent an email within a few minutes.
