Wordpress Home Page

    Hi,

Is it worth it to switch an html site to a Wordpress site ? I noticed you can't make the home page a static page with the content you want and also have posts under the static text. I read another post about using CMS and plugins, but you can't keep the regular URL with that and I don't think you can add posts under it and it doesn't seem that easy and may not be worth it. But, how would SEs know what a site is intended to be about if you don't have a standard home page that tells them ?

Is it worth it to switch - anyone done this before ?

    Thanks.

You could use a plugin for the static homepage and then look into an RSS feed to have posts on the page as well.

The SE's would know what the site is about from your title, and meta tag description and keywords I would presume.

Yeah, there are a lot of plug-ins available for wordpress and if you use the correct meta tags, it will have no problem.

Plus google doesn't use much of the meta tag information anymore.
