Hello Webmasters, Can you please share if any one has seen/experienced a wordpress site loading faster on virtual dedicated hosting compared to shared hosting?
VPS does not mean a faster speed it will lot depend on the kind of server you are using - wordpress even works great of shared hosting Hope it helps...
And then on the other hand, I've seen a single wordpress blog max out a dedicated server. It also depends on what plugins you have installed, how well they're written, what options you've selected, how much traffic the site gets, etc. That's really a wide open question with no definite answer.
Okay, let me put the question this way. My site is already on a shared hosting plan. But I feel that it is taking quite longer to load and want to improve the loading time. Is Virtual dedicated server hosting going to be of any help?
I haven't noticed a difference, to be honest. I was running a Wordpress site on a shared server which was getting overloaded on a constant basis, and it's now on a VPS. The only difference is how the site never suffers because of other accounts which use too much bandwidth and bog down the server.
Again it depends. Many hosts will shove as many clients as they can onto a small number of servers. That causes slowdowns as the processor is always behind. Who are you with? Virtual will probably help. I say probably because if your slowness is related to your install, plugins, etc. and what you have in there, it really won't. You have to balance that though with the costs involved. It may be overkill. And heck, you may have a large header or *cough* be displaying 55 posts on every page like I had elsewhere yesterday. How much traffic in visits and bandwidth are you doing each day?
