We paid an expensive WP "expert" to make a template for us only to find that an important default WP feature isn't working.
In Admin > Settings > Reading we set the front page to display a static page but that doesn't change anything and the front page just displays posts.
The developer claimed "we didn't specify that the front page would display static content before the job started" and of course he won't fix it for us.
Every other template I've seen or used worked with this option, what is the problem here and why doesn't our blog work right.
Having just shelled out a bunch of cash I don't want to spend more than $20 or so to fix this. I'd much rather a Free solution ;)

if you can provide the Url of your theme then it would be good to suggest a solution.
But i guess That must be something related to function.php file or the index.php to show static wp pages on your home page.

I also agree. index.php and function.php must be the problematic files here. Please give blog URL.

Just to make sure: In the reading settings have you marked the option "Display a static page" and then selected the name of the front page from the drop down menu? That assumes you have created a page (not a post) intended as front page.
