Wordpress help.. Please Advise me

Hello, I have a Wordpress directory site! and People register and post articles in there.. No the Problem is that People just create crap catagories like 66, 77.. I do not want this to happen.. I want that catagories can not made by any one other the admin. what should I do ?????

 

Is this a single Wordpress blog or do you have WP MU set up?

 

Read up on Wordpress Roles and Capabilities

Go to user settings and change their role. If they are an admin or editor, change them to an author. A contributor can edit posts but they cannot publish them.
After that, the Add New Category link will still be there but it will not work for them.

 

try using the plugin role manager there are other capability plugin managers but this one I find easiest to use

 

Have you created the needed categories, also simply change the role of the people making the post!
