    Everything was working fine!

I am using WordPress 3.0.1, the Blue Zinfandel Enhanced 2.0 theme.

Last night, I was trying the plugin WP Super Popup (link below):

WordPress › WP Super Popup « WordPress Plugins

And my posting ability went berserk!

I couldn't delete the plugin from the dashboard. When I did the same from the back-end, I cannot submit posts. It's showing as 'submit for review'. The permalinks ain't coming! And although blogs are getting posted at some dynamic URL such as ....?post=821...they are getting saved as drafts at the dashboard.

Completely clueless what to do! Please help.

I already deleted the plugin by accessing the hosting server back-end. What do you mean by dropping the tables?

make a back-up of wp database.
delete everything, install a fresh wordpress, use a new database for better.
    now upload wp database.

I would personally start from scratch - i.e. deleting the database and starting completely fresh, uploading the WP files by FTP. It sounds to me as if the database itself might be corrupted, or at the least, "infected" with dodgy data.

I am tech-dumb person (a layman in the true sense of the term)!

What you mean is, I download my files from my server to my computer. Delete the database. Install the WP script once and and create a new database. Then upload the files through FTP, right?

Not exactly. But maybe my answer was too brief. This is what I'd try (in order)… hoping that the problem was solved without replacing the database. But I would be prepared to lose all my data and start again if that's the only way to solve the problem.

    1. I'd download a clean install of the latest version of Wordpress on to my computer - from the Wordpress site.
    2. I'd use dreamweaver or my ftp program (personally I use Fetch for ftp - I'm Max - OSX) to copy the database information and passwords and so on from the wp-config.php file. It's the six blocks of php that start// ** MySQL settings - You can get this info from your web host ** //
/** The name of the database for WordPress */

    3. Then I'd use the Export option under Tools in the Dashboard to save as much information as I could.
    4. I'd wipe all the files on the server using my ftp program, then upload the clean Wordpress install from my computer.
    5. Log in and configure, go to Import under Tools and import the settings you downloaded under step 3.

I'd hope that worked, but if not, I'd wipe the database, reinstall and start from scratch.

I went to the PhpMyAdmin section in the host server. I found the "wp_posts" table. But there was nothing with the words "WP Super Popup". Check the attached image below:

If there is no table name similar to wp super popup, then look in wp_options table. It can leave some field there. if you find something, try removing them. But don't forget to take a backup of the database first!

Even in the WP_options table, I don't see anything. Any other place? Or they may be allotted with some other name? Check the image below

Everything everyone else told you is crap. REinstalling Wordpress will cause you to loose all your existing posts. So bad bad idea. I ask you again did you delete the plugin's directory on your server i.e. did you delete the directory [wordpress root]/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-popup ? If you deleted the plugin it cannot possibly be affecting your wordpress installation. Maybe there is something else wrong with your WP installation. 3.0.1 is old now and you should have updated to 3.3.1

Yeah, that's why I didn't reinstall it yet. The thing is, I still don't know what the problem is. Do you think the database is corrupted?
