    Hi All,
I like to know whether WordPress is server resource hungry for large sites.

Anyone here managing a very high traffic site using WordPress ?

I heard wp-cache module helps a bit in improving performance, but does it really help to load the pages faster when traffic is high ? (Lets say - 1000 users online)

I heard negative things that WordPress is server resource hungry. But I saw a very big site http://www.techcrunch.com/ (Alexa traffic rank of: 1784) uses WordPress. I am wondering how they are managing...

Any comments / suggestions are appreciated from WordPress experts...

And are you using WP Super Cache module on your site ?
And does this module change the URL structure ?
If yes, then where will the traffic from Search Engines go ? (As Search Engines might have already cached the old URLs)
