I have a new Dell 1710 with a 1920x1200 screen resolution. I own many blogs and have to work on them constantly. Yesterday when I went to several of them, I discovered problems: The right hand column for links, menu etc was moved to the bottom of the screen and to the left hand side. Also, when browsing these blogs and trying to scroll from top to bottom, the pages get that wavey look like you are running out of memory and they are terribly slow to scroll down through. These blogs do this on all resolutions on my new laptop. All other sites are fine. My concern is this is something to do with video cards etc, and that all my blogs need editing to work for all users. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
I sometimes use 1920x1200, and many designers never imagined that their pages would be rendered on such a wide screen, so the layout goes wonky. Now if your laptop is having a problem at every resolution, you might want to try a different browser for a 2nd opinion...
Firefox places the column where it should be on index pages and the scrolling goes back to normal. However on the article pages all pages are real badly skewed I am suspecting it is the laptop so am hoping there is an answer so I can adjust the resolution ot whatever so I can at least work on my sites and see what 99% of the world sees
You could try using the Firefox web developer toolbar to change the simulated resolution of your screen.
