Somebody hacked my Wordpress blog and added an Online Gambling link to my blogroll?

I have removed the link, but...

What are the best ways to prevent this?

Same here... it just happened on my self hosted wordpress blog.

Someone managed to change the admin email and password.

Luckily I was logged and reacted quite rapidly. I logged his IP...

    2 ways to prevent this
always update your wordpress to latest version
and make sure the password you use is a wicked long one with weird characters e.g 65($#vcfR4457&^5
