I've seen a few wordpress sites that have a weekly gallery post. That specific post has thumbnails to about 5-10 posts that the author likes that were blogged about during the week. The thumbnails hyperlink to each of the posts. What plugin would allow me to achieve the same?
A post like that "weekly gallery post" such as you said, could be made up the way it is entirely in the post editor with out using any plugin. Also wordpress 2.5 + now has an on board gallery function that would also work good and help do this.. The gallery function allows the author to select and upload multiple images all in one go and than kind of like mass edit them in one window pane. I have been using it (the wp gallery) on a few sites and like it pretty well. It takes a little getting use to but works pretty good once get the groove of it. Boulder
Thanks tinimini, I will google the name. Boulder, do you have an example url that you can share. I'd like to see what you've managed to accomplish without a plugin.
sarahturned, Well it mostly depends on if you are talking about just one single post with thumbnails in that one post? And is that post like a post on a normal type blog? Or you may be referring to a news column type blog where it has columns of different headline stories with three to four thumbs to each story under each headline section? The later style is called a newspaper column or magazine style blog and those are set up a little differently than a traditional blog.. The magazine style themes have a front page template and the blog page shows once click on a story. The traditional style has the blog page as the main front page. Showing the actual posts in chronological order on the front page. So, I would probably have to see the page you are referencing or one like it to know more about how it was done. Boulder
