I keep hearing people say that WP can work well as a CMS and not simply for a blogging style. So I'd like to give that a shot. I want to automate my webzine a bit more at www.audioxposure.com. I chose a wp theme that will work, and can handle most of the visual edits that I need. But I'd like to know if a few things are possible, before I jump headfirst into this (if you simply know of a resource that might help in teaching me some of these things, that would be great... I'm not finding much help from searches; likely b/c I'm not using the right terminology, but I'd really like to dig in and learn to do these things if they're possible). 1. With the template I'm using (I'm playing with it right now on a subdomain at http://dev.audioxposure.com), the categories are set up in columns. I know how to hide deeper subcategories when I add them, so they don't show up there. But I need individual pages to show up in the same format, and to be able to manually place / group / order them with the categories (for instance, I'd like "About AX" (normally a page) to be listed before the category for site news posts. I'm assuming combining them into one list is impossible. But what about using a category's main page as a "Page"? If I can simply add static text to the main page, it could serve as the About page, and I could use site news as a subcategory, and even the contact page as a subcat if I can put static text there. I'm not even sure if that makes sense how I'm saying it, but if there's a way to do it, I'd love to try it. 2. Is there any way I can manually choose the order of the categories? I know it can be done alphabetically, but I'd rather the About section be at the end, and keep features before cd reviews if it's possible. 3. I'd really like to setup adsense revenue sharing for someone who helps out with approving pieces for the site. However, I used Adsense sharing revenue and earnings plugin on the Six Figure Challenge blog for that, and it just causes too many problems. First, I get this error: Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when in safe_mode or an open_basedir is set in /home/jhm2980/public_html/sixfigurewriters/wp-content/plugins/adsense-sharings.php on line 121 $ on Code (markup): On top of that, it screws up comments on the blog, and forces them to all post to the first post on the site. I was wondering if there's an alternative (I'd like to keep it post-based, and not percentage-based) plugin that might do the same thing. I just keep stumbling back across this one, and I haven't been able to get any answers about these issues (with the comments being my biggest concern). If you know of a solution for any of those things, I'd be very grateful if you could direct me to someplace where I could learn more about it. Thanks! Jenn
