Wordpress first or Forum First !

    I'm starting a site xyzforum.com with phpbb and wordpress .

    which one should i install on the root directory first !

    www.xyzforum.com/wordpress

    or

    www.xyzforum.com/phpbb

    Which is the better way ...

    I want the Home page to display the forum frontpage !

    also, i wnat to integrate the users for both the cms ( wordpress and phpbb)

    I think it's better to display the wordpress one on the homepage because you can always link your forums from wordpress's main page.

    I agree with Endurer. Put your blog on the domain root and forum on a sub directory . You can also put a forum rss feed widget which will display the latest threads of your forum on the blog

    install a gud landing page in root. and keep the blog and forum in sub domain.

    blog.xyzforum.com

    forums.xyzforum.com

    if you notice digital point also installed in sub domain.

    i would suggest you to create a wordpress blog and integrate BBpress with it...

    I like wordpress as homepage, but I hate phpbb. Too much spam vulnerability.

    Put wordpress in the /html root. The reason being - its a lot more optimized for search engines then phpbb. With phpbb in the root, your "might" get some of your pages indexed. With wordpress, just about all your pages will get indexed, and you will be able to target keywords better in wordpress then you can in phpbb.

    If you put the forum in a sub directory and say visitors visit forums.website.com, does it still count as traffic for the orginal domain?(www.website.com)
    Thank god i found this post, I was wondering something very similiar
