I tried auto-updating my site. Got the error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function like_escape() in /hermes/bosnaweb01b/b2410/nf.engagingimages/public_html/engagingimages.ca/wp-includes/user.php on line 1095

If you know how to fix the above error and successfully complete the upgrade PM me with your price.

    Thanks.

Did you installed it (Wordpress) using Softaculous (App installer in cPanel etc).
If, Then backup it from Softaculous panel and try updating it from there.

    *If it helps...

I had this happen on a site I upgraded. Despite the error, the upgrade seems to have worked. Check the updates page and see if it doesn't say "You have the latest version of WordPress." You may also see a banner that says "An automated WordPress update has failed to complete - please attempt the update again now." If you do, just click the "Re-Install WordPress" button.

Issue has been resolved. The theme I was using had some code that was causing the issue. I switched to another theme and was able to upgrade without further problems.

    Thanks everyone!
