Wordpress Database Error: Please Help!

I cannot post my first post on my blog. The error message after I click publish is this:

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1]
SELECT * FROM wp_posts WHERE (post_type = 'page' AND post_status = 'publish') ORDER BY

 

Have you set permissions ? for files and database ?

 

Assuming you haven't posted anything yet, you could reinstall Wordpress. If there is a problem with your install that might be the quickest way to fix it.

 

Are you using a bleeding version? That error pops up all the time in them
Otherwise, reupload the post-new.php file to the admin directory, see if that helps
