Someone has spammed in my blog's comments and i ended up ranking for those words. So it seems like keyword density (even though it is spam) and outgoing links with nofollow attribute do the trick. I ended up ranking for some keywords that my site had nothing to do with, those keywords had some decent competition. Just wanted to share with you. Does anyone know where I can get a list of keywords for wordpress comment section that will resrtict posts. Any suggestions are appreciated, I just dont want to rank for porn and things that are irrelevant to my site. I unwantingly rank #1 in Google for: man wearing pantie club sleazy dream shower pantie sucking This is a disaster
To show you an example of how disgusting this spamming can be. Just take a look at this blog article. Take note of the comments and how many there are. so far I found a list of basic spam keywords that can restrict comments in wordpress for those particular keywords. Another alternative is code confirmation
first congratulations for ranking on those key phrase lol, you have said that list of spam keyword by adding it to be restricted and automatically deleted will help you much aside from using akismet. most of the spam comments are coming from compromised edu site?
I have some of the same issues, but all mine are pharmaceutical related...luckily I have to approve all comments...so that keeps me from being ranked for them.
i think that wordpress has a bug in comments all together. I initially set up not to receive any confirmations and still did. I wouldnt be surprised if there are other loopholes in it
does anyone know any hosting companies that allow xxx content? Ive just had an idea to set up a blog for those terms that my site has been ranking for to see how easy/hard it is to rank for those keywords. there should be some high paying affiliate programs in that industry...
Just googled for it here's what I found http://www.ilfilosofo.com/blog/wp-db-backup and yah... Akismet is good at catching spam, I use it for a long time now
I was getting spammed a lot and I did had 2 blogs getting 500+ spam comments a day. Took out the comments code and deleted the comments table from the database.
