Anyone has experience with submitting a comment on a wordpress blog only to see a blank page thereafter? I was told that your comments could be lost or blocked by akismet. Any one knows how to appeal to akismet or maybe a work around?

    thanks

if it was blocked by akismet, then it would say akismet thinks your comment might be spam therefore will be moderated first.

this is a common issue and lot of blog owners experience it on their blogs. this is something to do with WP version or coding. and how on the comment file within the WP theme action variable for the URL redirect is setup

Your comment is being flagged as spam by Akismet. If you get a blank page, your comment will not be saved for the Blog Admin to review. It will not even appear in the Akismet comment approval section of the Blog owners admin area.

The solution is to not comment so often. Hopefully you are just experiencing a temporary ban. If not, you must appeal to Akismet directly.

    Good luck

+1 Rep! Thanks, I kept getting this when submitting for a client and I was wondering WTF was going on with all the WP submissions. Now I know they didn't go through :( More make up submissions are owed to my client now.

    Argh...

You may want to advise your client to contact Akismet directly to remove the block. If it is a long term project for you, it may be best if you contact Akismet yourself.

The block you are encountering is normally used to block bots. That's why no errors are written to the screen. It's possible that either your client or one of his previous projects used a bot to spam his URL.

I am not too familiar with getting a site unblocked from Akismet, so I can't say how long it would take for them to review your request. I guesstimate about 3/4's of all functioning blogs use Akismet, so it is a huge loss to be blocked.

    Good luck
