wordpress.com versus blogger.com

Hello was wondering what is the better option in starting a blog. Been looking into both wordpress.com and blogger.com to start a blog.

Any thoughts on which one is the better of the two related to ease of use and options both for a begginer and down the road once my experience level increases.

Wordpress for sure, they offer so many extra features that blogger doesn't.. such as the many widgets you can install onto your wordpress blog

i also think wordpress is much better and try not to use a subdomain like mysite.wordpress.com. buy a domain because they're really cheap.

Yup. subdomains from wordpress.com and blogger.com is not good for marketing and for serious projects, you'll regret it later ;)

For simplicity go for blogger, it's really easy to use. But it won't have all the features wordpress blogs have like tonnes of themes et cetera!

Speaking as someone who has a Blogspot blog going on 2 years now, go with Wordpress. Eventually, you'll want to host the blog yourself to have more options available to you. When that happens, you'll want to be able to easily transfer your blog to your new host. This is possible with a Blogger blog, but definitely not easy. You can do that with Wordpress by clicking a button or two.

Definitely grab a domain name, too. Right from the start. So you can transfer seamlessly from wordpress.com to your own host.

Although, really, with hosting as cheap as it is, if you can manage all of $4/month, you can probably go self-hosted with wordpress to start - that's the best option.

Wordpress gets my vote as well. I tried blogger and blogspot but there too myspace-esque, wordpress is more professional. It has a cleaner feel and a lot more options for templates.

I'd go for blogger, you can't add adsense to a wordpress hosted blog.

AdSense isn't something that needs to be implemented right away. If you are a serious blogger, go with WordPress.
