Hi, I just installed a new wordpress blog on my server and I noticed that the admin interface is completely different from what I'm used to. I installed 2.0.2...I'm not sure what I used before. The problem is that I can't figure out how to do anything that I used to be able to. How do I add users, for instance? It's not a good idea to change your layout and not any of your documentation...
I just got caught in the same thing. Lot of changes for a .0.0.2 change. Post your questions. I plan to really look at this issue on Saturday.
Well, the first thing I need to do is create a couple users...I poked around and don't see a way to do it. I guess I'm just going to fiddle with the template for now...
How do I add pages? I see that I can edit the default "About" page, but I don't see a way to add new pages or get to that edit page from the dashboard. I'm considering going back to 2.0.1....
I caught this post as I was leaving. Went to the site and looked. Do this: Login as admin, click on users, There is now a sub-tab called authors and users. Click on that and it will allow you to add users.
I'm not sure we're on the same page. I don't have a users menu. I don't have any menus. I have attached a screenshot of what I see when I login as admin. Did I screw up the installation somehow?!?!
You may not be signed in as the the admin. You may only be signed in as a user. You can try using this url to reach admin. yourdomain/wp-admin/ Use your full domain name above then if you don't have the almost standard first level menu across the top band maybe you did screw it up somehow. I have never installed WP any way except thorough auto install from cPanel. You might also try clicking on the change look or theme link on the page you sent the screen shot of.
That's what I expected. I have installed WP before, but I thought they changed something in this version (I'm not sure what WP version I had before). Thanks. I'm going to try to reinstall later tonight.
