    Hey guys,

Recently my wordpress blog has been spammed with comments that are too good to be true.

    Here are some examples:

Aw, this was an incredibly good post. Spending some time and actual effort to create a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and never manage to get nearly anything done.

As soon as I found this site I went on reddit to share some of the love with them.

I’ve been browsing online greater than 3 hours nowadays, yet I never discovered any fascinating article like yours. It’s lovely value sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made excellent content material as you probably did, the internet can be a lot more useful than ever before. “Now I see the secret of the making of the best persons.” by Walt Whitman.

There are 53 more like these ones and its getting annoying deleting each and every one.

    Whats going on?

It is either an SEO company outsourcing to locals in India or the Philippines or an automated server script like se-nuke.

My human eyes tell me that it was written by a script.

So are you using wordpress? How are you going to block them?

SEO company or SEO guy no more using tool to spam anymore, they are hiring so called "blog comment poster" to make comment manually, and therefore sometime you can find a "very good comment"

I also receive lots of them.

If they are a pest for you, you can try to mae it a bit "harder" for them to leave comments by adding a captcha to the comment section. There are lots of plugins that allow you to do that, I use one called (I think) wp-reCaptcha.

Since then, the number of spammy comments has decreased to a minimum. Many bots won't even be able to post, and "human spammers" will maybe think that it's easier for them to find other blogs to comment.

The only drawback can be that some real visitor to your sit that wants to leave a real comment may also find it cumbersome and not post, but it's well worth a try, at least.

Ya i get that crap to. For a whole week I did not check my blog and I received over 300 comments on my blog, ranging from actually good posts, to crap. How does this affect google analytics? Is this good or bad when watching traffic. I know the traffic is worthless, but does it look good? I ask because the average time spent was ranging from 3-5minutes

Being done by software. At least the comments are sensible
The people posting them often don't have to visit your site.
It is all done on autopilot.
