Wordpress blog should I use my own domain?

    I have a new Wordpress blog and have a domain I could use for it.
    I'm wondering if its better SEO wise to use the domain or just stick with the subdomain from WP.

    If your hosting provider offers linux, php, apache and mysql-- I would go with your own domain. Most people who start blogs on free services usually wish they had gone with their own domain in the beginning, if they keep the blog for any length of time.

    It probably is better to use your own domain especially for SEO purposes.

    Hey! SEO, as well as usability wise, I feel custom domain is the best. You can have your custom plugins, custom themes, and much more. Its always advisable to spend a few bucks on hosting ;)

    its way better to have your own domain...especially because it is so inexpensive....10$/year + hosting costs...its really not so bad

    It's a great idea to having own domain. But, I don't know how to install wordpress blog to my own domain. :(

    Does anyone know how to install wordpress blog to own domain?

    It is always better to have your own domain.In case you are a newbie and do not know much about hosting and installing Wordpress and other plug-ins you should better go for CPANEL-FANTASTICO hosting.It is extremely simple and anybody can do it with no difficulty.

    In cpanel they give facility one click installation so do not uploading any script..

    It is very easy, but the majority of good web hosts will give you the ability to auto install wordpress (and many others) from within your site administration.

    I wasn't even thinking of hosting the script myself, but I could do that. It just seems easier to use Wordpress or Blogspot.

    Are there any good scripts out there for a blog?

    Wordpress is the best scrip in my opinion. It's easy to install/configure and is greate for SEO.
