Wordpress Blog SEO

I have a blog related to a city. My goal is to rank high in google for the term ex. "Elvta Hotels", if my blog was about the city of Elvta. I have built my blog with wordpress and going along with my example, the world Elvta is within the domain name. I know to have my metatags correct but what I am wanting to know is, how do I go about it the right way to achieve a high ranking (1st page on google)...Do I write several blogs articles on the site over a period of time with the keyword "Elvta Hotels" in it? Do I need to have my link on other sites with "Elvta Hotels" as my achor text? I am willing to put the work in as far as writing and researching all the content, I just want to make sure I go about this the correct way before putting in all the effort. Any suggestions on SEO for a certain term such as my example would be great guys! If you don't feel like typing it out, maybe you can just link me over to some more popular post on the topic.

You got the right idea.

Use a SEO plugin like "all-in-one seo" to add titles and meta tags for your posts and then be sure to use your keywords in the post headlines and in the copy. Use it as the alt tag in all your post images and anywhere else legit you can get it placed.

Then build some links with your keywords as the anchor text and you are on your way.
