Not sure where to ask this ? I lost my hosting but have saved Blogs backup data . Now found a new hosting but when I upload the Blog data it does not function ? I also tried to do a new install of WP with new host and then upload old WP blog data overwriting the wp blog ... Still does not work ?
Did you restore the backup for the database too? Just uploading your blog files won't do. You have to have the same tables and contents you had in the old MySQL database if you want to restore the blog.
Hi It may be quicker if you contact the hosting company and ask them to look into it for you. Just a thought. Dee PS Just curious, when you say it doesn't work do you mean you get an error or page no available?
Host said they would have transfered file for my old host .. Problem is the old host closed ... Yes I get a error when I try to over write them .
We got that you backed up the PUBLIC FILES but did you back up the Database too? From phpMyAdmin or any other?
How did you save your database? Export from Wordpress, or via phpMyAdmin? If all you've got is the Wordpress files (the php files and images etc), then you're screwed.
