Wordpress auction plugin (where visitors can start an auction)?

I'm looking for a plugin for Wordpress that lets your visitors start an auction and set up all of its facets on their own. This would basically turn Wordpress into an online classifieds or auction site. I can't seem to find anything out there beyond a plugin called "WP Auctions Gold" which only lets you list an item, not your visitors. Does such a thing exist?

I was just having a little search and only come accross the wordpress aucitons gold plugin that you mentioned.

To turn your blog into an auction site you will probably need to use a couple of plugins.

Why not use the wordpress auction gold plugin, and allow people to create accounts to your wordpress blog, and give them the permission to post only. This way they can have their own account and post their own auctions.

You could use other plugins to make this possible too.

I was trying to think of a way to use that plugin, but there are a couple issues:

--that plugin creates an overlay/popup instead of making a new page for the auction, making it extremely SEO unfriendly
--I'd have to hire someone to re-work it so that anyone could have permission to create an auction. Also, there would be no way to charge a fee for auctions, which would be mandatory for what I'm looking to do...not to mention, it would require Wordpress MU instead of Wordpress, and I wouldn't want to allow others to create accounts and new pages on their own - just use a static plugin to add their auction to.

Actually ClassiPress support and the product has come a long way since I purchased the company in March. I am the new owner and have built a dedicated forum with over 100+ registered contributors are there to help answer questions. There have been numerous product enhancements and updates as well.

Classipress does look great - I just wish it were a plugin instead of a theme. I need to put this functionality on an existing Wordpress site that has had a year of work put into it.

Out of curiosity, what's the best way to handle these kinds of sites? When an auction expires, does it delete itself and 301 redirect to the home page or something?
