Hello. I have a website mixupdate.com . Just a random blog. I am getting 1000+ unique visitors daily during the start of it after some SEO. But I feel my website's outlook and plugins are not what they should be.. I've seen sites like redmondpie.com and techcrunch.com I don't know if they are using wordpress but techcrunch does say powered by Wordpress VIP. It has a great style : Menu's, Columns etc. This is what I want my site to be. But I just don't get what those people are using. So tell me how to cover up those differences between these sites. One more thing is, I somehow don't have an Index page at Google. Don't know how to get it. So please tell me a way of getting that or creating it if I really don't have. Some websites have their menu inside Google like redmondpie.com . Also tell me how to get that please. So I need to know the following : 1st thing about the Website Outlook & Plugins others are using.. 2nd about the Index page and Menu at Google. 3rd about some useful SEO methods for a beginning.
From No. 3. I just want to ask do you use any bookmark & article submit technique? It will get a lot of your page will be index.
Then you should. I use for rare time but the results are fantastic. I got hundreds indexed pages. If you don't know what to do just outsource it.
I can answer this for you pretty easily. *You are comparing your new blog that you write alone with a blog that has been around for 5 years and has many writers that experience in various technical fields. *It also has custom design, and it appears...either custom implementation of certain plug ins, or custom coded plug ins. *They use better images. *They are a multi property company with many websites run by people in the business from respected companies like Fox Interactive Media, CNN Money, and other Silicon Valley start ups and past companies like Business 2.0 * They have better content. *They spend money on design and content. You use a free theme, free plug ins and write everything yourself that you learn from other sources. Techcrunch isn't just a blog that rehashes already known or published information. It is the source of information that other blogs regurgitate. That's the difference. If you want to close the gap between a million dollar company and your blog, your first step would be to spend some money on design and content.
I hear that Wordpress is good for SEO. I donot know why people say. I try to modify the WP theme code & I get good result on SERP.

Ohh Thanks for the wise reply indeed. Some of the content of my blog is also actually brought my some other sites and some authored. So, if those blogs bring content from my blog, I think my Blog would have a very great PR then!
Thanks. One last thing, why my site doesn't have any Index page at google. If searched, always some topic comes but no direct main page link. What's the issue and how to fix.
