    Hi

I am a bit confused about adding Adsense to a Wordpress blog. The wordpress TOS says you CANNOT add Adsense but almost every wordpress blog I come across in here has them.

Can anyone enlighten me if its allowed and if so how to add them?

Also I have downloaded a wordpress theme I like (from another DP thread) but can't work out how to change my blog to that theme.

Any help on both matters appreciated.

Are you using wordpress.com or are you hosting it on your own domain?

If so how do I do that as well? :)

I'm not sure about wordpress.com .I don't think you can upload themes to wordpress.com blogs but then again,I haven't log in to my acc for quite a while so they might have change that.

Most people host their own wordpress blog. You need to download the script from wordpress.org and upload it to your hosting account. You need a domain/subdomain for that too.

You will need a PHP based hosting account and 1 mysql database to install wordpress on your own domain. When you download the word press zip from their site, you will see a "read me html" document in it. It has specific instructions on how to install it.

Once you have installed it, upload the new theme in your wp-content > themes folder. Now log in to your admin area using the username and password word press gave while installing. ( Write it down somewhere. I once forgot it and had to re install the whole thing.)
Click "presentation". The new theme you uploaded will be visible here. Click the name of the theme and your blog will now use this theme instead of default.

You will have to set up a username and password for mysql database before installing word press.

    Bye

Wordpress.com is a hosted wordpress service that really doesn't let you do anything but text and images on your blog. If you want to make some money, you need to get a hosting account, get some domains, and run your own wordpress. Many hosting providers will install wordpress for you, so it's really easy these days.
