Wordpress & Adsense questions

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by wilson2k3, Sep 7, 2008.

I just started a blog on Wordpress last night and I've been searching all over through its options for putting in ads, and it seems its impossible, unless I'm missing something. Like is it possible? Do I have to be a paid member on wordpress to have ads (adsense) or is it just not possible?

And if it is the case that they can not be used could someone send me in the right direction of a different blogging site (where adsense is possible). thanks!

You just need some web design/programing knowledge to understand the wordpress structure.

For example - the easiest is to insert adsense code in your posts. Just switch from Visual to HTML view and paste the code wherever you want it appear.

If you want to put it into sidebars, footbars, etc you'd need to take a closer look at the according php files in the theme directory you are currently using...

Well if you have a blog like http://abcdefg.wordpress.com you can not add adsense to that wordpress thing unless and untill you have a domain and you install wordpresss on your domain.

Later you can add some plugin to it aor add manually the adsense code in your domain based wordpress site.

Yeah you cant have ad on wordpress.com. However you can always have a self-hosted wordpress and custumize the way you want. Thats what I did with my blog. :D

If you installed the wordpress blog using your own hosting, then you can put adsense ads..But, if you created a free blog at Wordpress.com , then it's impossible to put adsense ads, etc.
Create a free blogspot blog if you want to make some $$.

I think you have got the answer. Wordpress do not allow adsense so you have to go back to blogger. There are few other services too like typepad but I will advice you to stick with blogger. Google show some nice affection to it *cough**cough*

Let's make it clear that wordpress.COM (freeblog.wordpress.com) doesn't allow adsense, but wordpress.ORG allows adsense on a paid domain + hosting.
