    Hi there,

Unfortunately my close uncle passed away, and as a result I wasn't available to pay hostgator and they have rightly suspended my account, however I tried to log into wordpress and it won't let me log in, as in it doesn't recognise my username ?

Have wordpress deleted my account? - I tried to log into their website which should be the same as logging in my cpanel on my hosted website, but as Hostgator have been absolutely unhelpful and want me to pay a whopping $40 to get myself reactivated absolutely shocking?!

What can I do ? I feel I have lost a years worth of blogging?

I'm sorry for your uncle :( hm I'm interested in the answer to this question also tho. I just switched to wordpress a few days ago.. what happens to all my blogs and pages when my hosting expires? Is there a way to back up your blogs on your hard drive?

Hi - to both of you.

If you want to back up your wordpress data/posts, i would suggest exporting the information through wordpress if you can login.

If you can not login to wordpress, i would suggest logging into your cpanel and backing(exporting) up your database so that you have all the information safe and on your hard drive/usb/some where safe.

sjohal2006 : You should be able to login to your wordpress however since it was hosted with hostgator and they have suspended the account im guessing all access to your accounts etc is blocked so therefore you will have to stump up the $40 and get your data (I think).

I am afraid you will need to pay them to re-activate your account. Then you can simply change Admin password, using phpMyAdmin.

If you would read a thread you might realized it was hosted with Hostgator :)
