WordPress a decent platform for adsense?

I HAVE searched on this extensively, but I havent found a thread that was all about this.

I have tons of great content on a subject that I know well, and I can write several articles per day for about a year on various things relating to it.

I have a main site, but its just such a pain to update it beacuse I basically have to "re-make" the entire thing everytime I want to do a new article. I messed around with WordPress a bit and I LOVED it. I found a goldmine thread and the guy that runs http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/ seems to be making very good money on his site...can all sites do as well with really good content?

    The questions:

    1. Is the CTR worse on WP than on a custom built site?

    2. Can I do <h1> tags and bold items and such on each article to optimize them as best I can?

I am still trying with adsense, I started off strong and now my gains are nill. I want to really put some serious effort into this.

    Thanks,

    Amadore.

CTR really depends on where you place the ads. Each site and niche will have different results.

Yes you can bold text in Wordpress..

The great thing with Wordpress is that it gets picked up Google very quickly.

Yes, it would depends on how you place your ads and the content quality of your site.

John Chow earns around $2,000 per month from his blog (only adsense) :)

Any site gets picked up quickly when you build it correctly.

Blogs are notorious for resulting in low CTR. The thing with a blog is people visit them, and read them. People only visit blogs to read the blog itself. In many cases, the visitor will not click on an ad because they already found what they wanted.

That being said, blogs can be very successful. With patience and hard work, a blog can be very valuable. The ease of adding content results in just that; you add pages. The content can build quickly, especially if the topic is one you know and enjoy. If you are an expert on the topic people will come back to read your blog. Traffic can grow very well and as we all know, traffic is key to success.

WordPress is perfect for blogs, and there are many scripts for it that allow for easy SEO to be applied.

I say go for it, and good luck!
